Patricia Moore

Patricia Moore
The paintings of Patricia Moore are full of light, movement and luminous colour. Her works hover between abstraction and representation, evoking nature. Born in British Columbia, Moore has lived throughout Canada. Currently living in Burlington, Ontario, she spends several months every year at the house and studio she maintains in Prince Edward Island. That particular environment informs all of her work. Canvases explore movement, sounds, music, water, light and shadows. Using gestural brushwork and luminous colour, they express a personal even lyrical approach to her environment both exterior and interior. Growing up in Montreal, Patricia Moore studied art at Concordia and McGill Universities as well as Montreal’s L’Ecole des Beaux Arts. Her paintings have been extensively exhibited in Canada and the United States. They form part of private and public collections including, among others, Canada Council of the Arts, Confederation Centre Art Gallery and Museum, and CIBC
